The nave, south of the bimah area, is decorated with a rectangular mosaic which encloses a square panel. The square panel frames two overlapping square panels with a circle at the center. The circle which is framed by two bands encloses two pairs of birds facing each other. The differing pairs of birds are set one above the other. The two squares which enclose the circle overlap each other diagonally, creating an eight-pointed star form. The space between the rim of the circle and the triangles of the star is inhabited by vine leaves and bunches of grapes. The eight triangles of the star are decorated with a chess-board pattern and a conch pattern alternately. The area within the corners of the outer square panel around the star contains pairs of peacocks facing each other, each pair flanking between a bunch of grapes. The outer square panel is surrounded by a repeating pattern of four-petals formed by intersecting circles. The rectangular panel is framed by a border of of plain bands and stepped triangles. The mosaic near the outer frame of the bimah on the south includes three seven brached menorahs: one at the center, and two near the corners of the rectangular panel. Around the entire panel are rows of flowerbuds. The panel was designed to be viewed from the south, except for the peacocks in the corners which are to be viewed from the corners of the nave.
