A rectangular bimah paved with mosaics south of the apse, surrounded by a frame of rough stones. A Torah ark apparently stood on the bimah. At the center of the mosaic a square panel framed with a plain strip, enclosing a bird at the center. It is surrounded by two concentric circles within an equilatertal diamond shape. eometric patterns. The bird is depicted in profile facing left, with a rounded body. A row of flowerbuds is set between the two concentric circles which surround the bird. A trichrome chessboard pattern decorates the upper area of the outer circle and the diamond-shape, and the lower area is decorated with a conch pattern. The triangular spaces within the corners of the outer panel are decorated alternately with conch and trichrome chessboard patterns. Around the central panel are rows of flowerbuds. The panel was designed be viewed from the south.
