The rectangular alms box is composed of a receptacle and a cover. The tapering receptacle bears a clasp on front and an inscription underneath it in square filled letters which reads: "צדקה תציל ממות")משלי 01:2 ( "...righteousness delivereth from death." (Prov.10;2). The domed rectangular cover bears a trapezoid unit for the coins as well as dedicatory inscriptions on each facet which read: "This alms box belongs to the benevolant society of the burial society and was made by the sextons Rabbi Joshua Ber son of Rabbi Aharon, Chaim son of Rabbi Leib Teltz Halfan, Rabbi Jaccob son of Rabbi Solomon Zuref Pihem". An additional inscription can be found on the facets of the bottom rim of the lid. The inscription reads: "The Rabbi Nahum son of Rabbi Elyakum Glazer in the year 1819 =5[579]".
