The alms box is composed of a receptacle, a cover and a handle. The cylindrical receptacle has two afriezes at top and bottom bearing foliate scrolls with berries. The center of the top afrieze bears a clasp and the bottom one bears a smooth oval medallion. In the center between the two afriezes there is a depiction of a standing stag with an erect head. A dedicatory inscription is situated under the bottom afrieze in square filled letters which reads: "ה' )הרב( הרש קערן ב"ה )בן הרב( ליזר זצ"ל )זכר צדיק לברכה( לחברת גומלי חסדים דק"ק )דקהילת קודש( טריש ולגבות נדרי ונדכי מזכירי הנשמות נ"י )נרם יאיר(" "The Rabbi Hersch Korn son of Rabbi Leizer the righteous of blessed memory for the benevolent society of the holy community of Trizs and to collect? the vows and donations? of the mentioners of souls may their light shine". The cover bears an opening in the center for the coins and a afrieze similar to those on the receptacle with an additional inscription underneath it which reads: "לפרט צד'קה' ת'צ'י'ל' מ'מות" )משלי 01:2 ( "The year ...Righteousness delivereth from death (Prov. 10;2) [1819]". The S shaped handle is attached to the backside of the receptacle.
