The oval box bears two scenes one on the top and one on the bottom. The top of the box depicts two lovers embracing, the womans breasts are showing and the man has his arm around her waist. They are lying on grass and are surrounded by hills. A deer can be seen in the foreground and a cupid chasing another deer can be seen in the background. The winged cupid has a quiver on his back and bears a bow and arrow in his hands. The scene is framed by a wide border with a foliate and floral scroll design. The back side of the box depicts two men holding a bunch of grapes on arod. Both men have long hair and beards and are wearing tunics over folded pants that reach their knees. One of the men is wearing a triangular hat. The men are walking on a grassy knoll and there are buildings in the background. The scene is framed by the same design as on the front. The same scroll design can be found on the sides of the box.
