The medal bears inscriptions and depictions on either side. The first side bears a depiction of Moses in the center sitting on a rock holding the tables of the covenant in his right hand. The tables are divided into two and on each there are roman numerals I-V and VI-X. Moses is wearing a long flowing robe and is pointing at the fourth commandment. He is seen in left profile, is bearded and has two rays emerging from his head. An inscription appears above him in a semi circle. The inscription reads: "Du sollst vater und mutter ehren". A smaller inscription situated under the depiction reads: "Loos". The flip side of the coin bears a depiction of a Horn of plenty sitting on a shelf/table draped with a cloth. The horn is overflowing with coins and is leaning on a bowl with grapes, some of the grapes are situated on the horn. There is an inscription above the horn in a semi circle. The inscription reads: "Auf dass dir's wohl gehe".
