Who is Commemorated?

The martyrs and fighters of The Vilnius ghetto

Description:

The monument is located in front of Building 3, Mėsinių Street, in Ghetto Victims' Square. All houses at the site were part of the ghetto and were demolished after World War II.

The monument itself is a low granite square column facing Mėsinių St. and is approached by three steps. It upper part bears the Star of David, and identical inscriptions in Yiddish and Lithuanian are located in the lower part. Another Lithuanian inscription is placed on the column's base.

On the base, in Lithuanian:

Geto aukų aikštė

Translation: Ghetto Victims' Square
