The silver Torah shield is square and terminates with an ogee shaped arch. It consists of a plate.
In the center are two closed doors in a shape of a stepped arch. The doors bear initials which are probably part of the ten commandments.
Beginning with the door on the right, the square outline letters read from right to left.
"אנ )אנכי ה'(##ל )לא(##תנ )תנאף(##ל )לא( ##תר )תרצח(" ##
"I am the Lord. Thou shall not commit adultery. Thou shalt not kill." (Ex. 20:2, 14, 13)
The left door reads:
"ל )לא(##תג )תגנב(##ל )לא( ##תע )תענה(##"
"Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness." (Ex. 20:15-16)
Two budding branches flank the doors. Two vertical branches bearing a flower in their center flank the composition. A leafed blossom is located below the doors. A protruding crown surmounts the doors and fills the arch.
In its center is a medallion bearing a dedicatory inscription, the square outline letters read:
נא )נדבת איש(
שמריהו בן
אליקים
"The donation of the man Shmaryahu son of Elyakim."
The crown is decorated with a symmetrical foliate scroll motif which extends frin the medallion and is connected by a double dotted line to a bud at the top center of the medallion. A band below consists of an alternating pattern of diamonds and circles. There is a flower under the crown.
The shield is framed by a single rope like band.
