The Torah binder is a long and narrow cloth, which bears an inscription for the circumcision ceremony, accompanied by illustrations. The inscription is painted in square stylized filled letters and reads: ז"נ )זו נדבת( הילד יהודה בר יצחק שליט"א )שיחיה לאורך ימים טובים אמן( נולד במזט )במזל טוב( תקצו לפ"ק ה' יגדלהו לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים א"ס )אמן סלה(. "This is the donation of the child Yehuda Bar Isaac born, may he live a long life, ingood luck [5]596 (1836). May God raise him to Torah, Huppah and to good deeds. Amen selah". The word Torah is illustrated by an open Torah scroll surmounted by a crown. The open scroll bears an inscription which reads: וזאת התורה אשר שם משה לפני בני ישראל "And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel" (Deut. 4:44) Flanking the crown are the letters: כ ת "Crown of Torah" The word Huppah is illustrated with a Huppah mounted over an inscription, it reads: ק"ש )קול ששון(## וק"ש )וקול שמחה(## ק"ח )קול חתן(## וק"כ )וקול כלה(## "The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride" (Jer 33:11) The zodiac sign for the month of Av is illustrated by a crouching lion. The sign is accompanied by the inscription: מזל אריה## "The zodiac sign Lion" The date has a background of a curtain surmounted by a crown. Decorative motifs appear above and preceding the inscription and include a vase, a star, a crown, a star of david, a snake and flowering branches. Some of the letters are decorated with geometric and floral motifs. The ascender of the letter Lamed in the word good deeds is in the form of a snake.
