Fol. 13v:
A man throwing a naked infant from a crenellated building into the water and another infant falling downwards (flaked off).
Inscribed:
בציווי מלך מצרימה (!)
להשליך כל הזכרים למימה
“(It was) the order of the king of Egypt to throw all male children into the water.”
Fols. 13v, 14:
On the left (fol. 14), Pharaoh, crowned, enthroned, clad in purple, holding a golden sceptre, and pointing at Moses and Aaron (fol. 13v) who approach from the right, clad as travelers. Moses holds a large golden rod. Behind them a forest; behind Pharaoh crowned lions (effaced) and the turreted castle of Egypt.
Inscribed near Moses and Aaron:
משה ואהרון לפני פרעה באו
ואת האותות לפניו הראו
“Moses and Aaron came before Pharaoh and showed him the signs.”
Near Pharaoh:
מי ה' אשר אלי שלח לי
ממנו לא שמעתי בגבולי
“’Who is the Lord (≠ Ex. 5:2) who sent (you) to me? I have never heard of Him in my country’.”
