The wooden Torah^case consists of a ten-faceted body and a coronet. Two pairs of faceted annulets encircle the upper and lower borders of the body. Thirteen wooden knobs for hanging the Torah case wrapper encircle the upper border. A rectangular silver plaque, attached on both sides of the case's opening, bears a dedicatory inscription. The ogee plaque's arch is decorated with foliate pattern. A silver floral base for a hook and clasp is attached under each plaque. The inner face is plain wood. The hollow bottom has two oval hand holders, one on each side. The hollow top is decorated with round holes. Two insert holes for the rods are at the top of the case. The coronet is faceted. Each of the ten facets is decorated with symmetrical openwork of floral pattern. The dedicatory inscription appears in a frame in the shape of horseshoe arches and is engraved in linear letters. It begins on the right plaque, and reads: וזאת ##התורה" מפז יקרה ##וכתיבה ישרה ותגין##יעדה נזרה עם ווי##העמודים לתפארה It continues on the left side of the plaque, and reads: אשר##הוגש למעבר יקרא##לע"נ ה"ר כמוס ששון##נ"ע לחזות נועם ואורה##בניסן התרסג ליצירה "And this is##The Torah more precious than fine gold (based on Ps. 119:127)##and the right writing and crown##she will wear her crown with the hooks##of the pillars for beauty Which ##was served for reading##for the exaltation of the soul of the R. Kamus Sasson ##may he rest in Eden, who passed away (Ps. 27:4:...to behold the beauty...)##in Nisan 5663=(1903)"
