In the center of the composition there are two lions supporting a croned cartouche. The composition is made of painted knock, 1761. It is accompnied by an inscription of 1935: הכון לקראת אלהיך ישראל 

(פיוט סליחה לליל יום הכיפורים במנהג הקהילות הספרדיות, שנכתב על ידי ר' יהודה הלוי)

The scene of temptation of Adam and Eve is depicted on the right, and Cain slaying Abel is depicted on the left. They are inscribed:

ותקח מפריו ותאכל  (בראשית ג׳ ו)

(She) took of the fruit  thereof , and did eat (Genesis 3:6)

אי הבל אחיך (בראשית ד' ט)

Where is Abel thy brother (Genesis 4:9)


The inscription on the arch reads: מלאכת הציור נגמר בשנת ימחל יסלח ויכפר ה' לכם חטאיכם לפ"ק [The work of painting was finished at the year "God will forgive your sins", 1935]
