The silver Torah shield is rectangular and terminates with a trapezoidic arch. It consists of a main plate and movable plaques. The decoration is set within an architectural facade and is composed of two parts.## The lower part depicts in its centre the Tables of the covenant inscribed with the beginning of the ten commandments, five on each side. Two open-winged birds flank the Tables which are supported by a rectangular opening that contains four movable plaques. ##Below the opening is a medallion bearing a dedicatory inscription, in square letters on nine lines which reads: "זה##הציץ נדר ר' ##יורל ב"ר )בן רבי( קלנטס##ז"ל )זכרונו לברכה( שנפטר ג י"ט י"ם)?(##בחודש אייר שנת תר-##ל"ג לפק עם זי"ג)זוגתו( טאבא##בת ר' אליעזר ז"ל לב-## הכ"ן )לבית הכנסת( דפה יאליסוו-##עטגראד". "This Ziz (Plate) is made, in fulfilment of the vow of Rabbi Iurel son of Rabbi Klentes of blessed memory, who passed away on Tuesday 19 (?) in the month of Iyar the year (5)633 (26.5.1873), with his wife Tova daughter of Rabbi Eliezer of blessed memory, to the synagogue of Yelizavetgrad."## The medallion is supported by a pair of human-faced sejant guardant lions. The lions legs are partly covered by a cloth. Behind each lion is a column decorated with twisted lines surmounted by a capital of acanthus leaves. The columns support the upper band of a frame decorated with foliate scrolls which surrounds the lower part of the shield.## The trapezodic upper part depicts in it centre a crown decorated with a pattern of diamonds and dots. The crown is supported and surrounded by foliate scrolls and it surmounts the Tables of the covenant.## The borders of the upper part are serrated. Each of the rectangular movable^plaques bears the name of a feast, inscribed in square filled letters as follows: "ראש השנה##יום כפור##שלש רגלים##שבת" "Rosh Hashanah (New Year)##Yom Kipur (Day of Atonement)##Three pilgrimages##Shabbath"## Rings are attached to the back of the shield.
