The silver Torah shield is rectangular and terminates with a semi circular arch. It consists of a plate.
The Tables of the Covenant are depicted in the center and are inscribed with the opening words of the ten comandments. Above the tablets an inscription the square outline letters read: "יהוה" "The Lord" Below is a plaque bearing a dedicatory inscription written in square outline letters which reads:
ז"נ [זה נדבת] אשה מ [מרת] גיטל / חיי על ספר ת' [תורה] / בשותפת עים / בעלה הראשון
"This is the donation of the woman Mrs. Gitl Hayia for the Torah scroll in participation with her first husband."
A coronet consisting of a thin band and foliate top is located in the arch and surmounts the tablets. Two corinthian columns flank the tablets. They have a square base decorated with a flower. A couchant regardant lion lies on top of the capital and holds the tablets with one claw and with the other supports the coronet.
