Two existing photographs of the interior show the partition of the women’s section, which was decorated by a painting showing a garden fence with three gates: the central one flanked by double columns and two lateral ones flanked by single columns.
In the southern part, between the gates, a deer was depicted running between two trees. It is inscribed רץ כצבי. In the northern part, there appears and eagle inscribed וקל כנשר. The eagle, also flying between two trees, grasps a hare in his claws. A snake winds round the eagle’s neck and seemingly bites it.
The photographs show also the lower part of the vault, which is decorated with foliate scrolls, flowers and depictions of Zodiac signs. Clearly seen are the sign of Libra, depicted as a scale, and the sign of Scorpio, depicted as a scorpion.
