Who is Commemorated?

Jews of the Krichev district, killed in the autumn of 1941.

Description

The monument is an upright stele of an irregular shape standing on a thin base that, in turn, stands on a paved podium.

In the upper part of the stele, the menorah is depicted.

The monument bears three non-identical inscriptions: in Belarusian, Russian, and Hebrew. At the bottom of the monument, there is an additional inscription identifying the foundations that erected the monument. 

The inscriptions are framed with long strips on their right and left sides. 

Inscription

In Belarusian: 

Ахвярам нацызму.
У восень 1941 года
былі па-зверску расстраляны яўрэі-
жыхары Крычаўскага раёна. 

Translation: To the victims of Nazism. / In autumn 1941 / were brutally shot Jews- / residents of the Krichev district.  

In English: 

To the victims of Nazism. 
Jews from Krichev district
were brutally murdered 
in autumn 1941.

In Hebrew: 

לזכר קורבנות היהודים
מהעיר קריצ׳ב והסביבה הי׳׳ד
שנרצחו על ידי הנאצים
בסתיו 1941
ת.נ.צ.ב.ה 

Translation: In memory of the Jewish victims / from the town of Krichev and the neighborhood, God will avenge their blood / who were killed by the Nazis / in autumn 1941 / May their souls be bound in the bundle of life.

At the bottom of the monument, in English:
