<p>IJA 0012394 DES L The Egyptians pursuing the Israelites and the crossing of</p> <p>the Red Sea extends over the lower part of pages 115v-116 (see card 9549).</p> <p>IJA 0012394 DES L On fol. 115v, at the upper side, is a scene of raising the</p> <p>Passover basket (see card 12377).</p> <p>IJA 0012394 DES L Both pages are surrounded on the upper and side margins by a</p> <p>frame composed of fleshy leaves and flourishes with gold disks attached to a</p> <p>golden stem.</p> <p>IJA 0012394 DES L At the upper corners of each frame are two illustrative</p> <p>medallions.</p> <p>IJA 0012394 DES L The right medallions on each page depicts a man pointing</p> <p>with his finger to the scene below</p> <p>PDF created with pdfFactory trial version www.pdffactory.com</p> <p>IJA 0012394 DES L and the left medallions depicts a round decorative Ma@zah</p> <p>(fol. 115v ) and a man pounding with a mortar as he is making @Haroseth (fol.</p> <p>116).</p> <p>IJA 0012394 REM L The pages were executed by three artists:</p> <p>IJA 0012394 REM L The crossing of the Red Sea by artist five- Joel Ben Simeon,</p> <p>the Passover basket and the illustrative medallions by artist four and the</p> <p>decorative borders were executed by artist three.</p>
