The depiction of a fox occupies the right medallion of the fourth row from the top. The fox is depicted leaping, in profile, facing the central medallion. The fox's head protrudes out from the frame, as well as its hind legs and tail, which are stretched backwards, and its front legs, which are stretched frontwards.

The tesserae are made of limestone. They are laid in curved lines within the figure and in straight parallel lines in the background.
The fox's outline consists of one line of black tesserae. The fox, grapes and leaves are surrounded by one line of background tesserae.
The average number of tesserae per 10cm2 is 11x11. The highest density is found in the fox's front paws: (12x12), while the lowest is found in the grapes: (10x9).
