The tesserae are made of limestone. They are laid in straight parallel lines in the background.
The bird, grapes and leaves are surrounded by one line of background tesserae. The number of tesserae per 10cm2 in the background is: (10.5x9.5).
A hue of brick-red is used, aside from the hueas of black and white.
