Along the left side of the border are four biblical figures, each within a vertical panel accompanied by the corresponding inscriptions written within quatrefoil cartouches. Between them are decorative elements such as a vase of flowers, a mask or floral decoration. Here is King Solomon: The seated bearded and crowned Solomon wearing a long fury garment is holding a scepter in his right hand and pointing with his left at the text which contains the names Carolus and Elizabeht in display script.  Above and below the scene inscribed within two cartouches: וגו' מכל בני קדם / ויחכם שלמה, "Solomon was wiser / "than all the children of the east country, etc" (Kings I, 5:10-11).
