The bird's outline consists of one line of black tesserae. The bird, grapes and leaves are surrounded by one line of background tesserae.
The highest number of tesserae per 10cm2 is found in the background: (9x11). The lowest number is found in the body: (8.5x8).
A few hues of red are used, aside from the different hues of black and white.
