The Halah knife is composed of a rectangular blade and a narrow handle. The blade bears an inscription in square letters which reads: "The blessing of the Lord it maketh rich" (Prov.10;22). The blade tapers at the top and is connected to the handle by a series of rings. The narrow handle widens in the center and bears different depictions on either side. The first side bears an architectural design showing a double horse shoe arch supported by pillars with vegetal capitals. A lamp surrounded by stars hangs down from the center of the arch and surmounts an inscription which reads: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." (Ex. 20;8). A depiction of a table covered by a table cloth with two breads and a cup of wine is situated underneath the inscription. An additional inscription framed by a geometrical border can be found under the above depiction and it reads: "A day of rest and ? he gave to his people". The other side of the knife bears a depicton of wheat.
