The depiction of a leopard occupies the left medallion of the second row from the top. The leopard is depicted leaping, in profile, facing the central medallion. Its front leg is stretched forward, while its hind legs are stretched backwards and protrude from the frame. Its tail is curled down.

Material/Technique
The tesserae are made of limestone, marble and glass. They are laid in curved lines within the figure and in straight parallel lines in the background.
The leopard's outline consists of one line of black tesserae. The leopard, grapes and leaves are surrounded by one line of background tesserae.
The average number of tesserae per 10cm2 is (9.5x10). Hues of yellow are used, besides the different hues of black and white.
