Fol. 177, by Illuminator D: The initial word King מלך), Melekh) opening the yozer of the morning service for the second day of the New Year (Davidson 1924–1933, מ 1543) is enclosed within a rectangular panel decorated with three human hybrids, two of which are wearing pointed hats; another on the left is a bearded head between two legs. Acanthus scrolls frame the letters which show vestiges of silver on a brown ground. The decoration is in spared-ground technique.
