The Torah pointer comprises an upper cylindrical handle surmounting a leaf-shaped bar, which tapers towards a pointer formed as a clenched hand with a crooked index finger.

The handle includes undulating units set in between compressed globes and rings. A round loop, through which a ring is inserted, surmounts the handle.

The flat bar is composed of a leaf-shaped unit, topped by a round medallion. The bar is decorated with different ornaments: a scrolling branch, the Tables of the Covenant and a Star of David inscribed:  "יד"”a hand" (that is "a pointer").

The entire decoration is framed with a running pattern of small triangles.

The back side is inscribed with a dedication, written in square linear letters and reads towards the pointer (fig. 1):

"לע"נ (לעילוי נשמת) מר אבינו רבי/ פראזי ביתאן נ"ע (נוחו עדן) י"ג כסלו התשנ"ב/ ומרת אמנו מזיאנה נ"ע (נוחה עדן) ל/ שבט התשנ"ב/ ת.נ.צ.ב.ה (תהא נשמתם צרורה בצרור החיים)."

“(Donated) for the exaltation of the soul of Mr. our father, Rabbi Frazi Bitan, may he rest in Eden(died on the) 13th of Kislev 5752 (20.11.1991). And (for) Mrs. our mother Maziana, may she rest in Eden (died on the) 30th of Shevat 5752 (4.2.1992), may their souls be bound in the bond of life.”

The bar terminates with a pointer shaped as a clenched hand with a straight index finger.
