Fol. 64: Attacking a fortress. According to the inscription on the top, there was a fortress which could not be conquered because it was surrounded by snakes and scorpions. A wise man had taken hungry storks which fed on them, and thus the fortress was taken.

Erect a defence wall by filling large baskets with stones and earth so that shots cannot penetrate it.

A double ladder should cautiously be placed against the fence for scaling it. In front of the gate is a combat engine with spears, and to upper right is a shield on wheels.

פעם אחת היה מקום שאין אדם יכול לכבוש/ אותו מחמת שהיו סביב המקום מלוא נחשים/ ועקרבים ואין אדם יכול אצל המקום לבוא/ מחמת השרצים. אז לקח חכם הרבה/ שטויירק והרעיב אותם ב' או ג' ימים ואז/ הביא השטויירק לפני המקום

ופורחים/  ואוכלים השרצים וכך כבש המקום.

Below the ladder, on the left: 

ברעט שים על הגדר כדי שלא/ יצעוק.

שפרייט עיין סרבל על/ הגדר ועשה הלייטר/ אובן רונט צו זמין/ דש זיי אובן הוך אוייבר/ דען צויין גיט.

To the right of the fortress: תמלא סלים גדולים עם/ אבנים וחול ואפר זו קאן/ מן ניט דר דורך שישין.
