Fol. 8v: A fox trippant speaks to two armed men in the open landscape. The man dressed in a short tunic on the right is holding a halberd in his left hand and a sword is dangling on his thigh. The man on the left has a crossboro belted round his thighs and wears a short mantle. Representing the men as hunters or warriors does not exactly follow the caption and text, nor does the fox supplicate. The caption above reads: "Image of the fox lauding and praising and supplicating before the men" (צורת השועל מהלל ומשבח, ולפני האנשים מתנפל ומשתוחח; Loewe 2004, I:73).
