MS I:11 (fig. 1) includes the following signs (simanim):

a) Sign for marking a special custom for various festival days: זמן ב' לילות ראשונות של פסח וב' של שבועות וד' של סוכות וב' של ראש השנה, בשני לוקחין פרי חדש בלי זמן על היין;

b) Sign indicating whether the month is defective or complete, begin: כל חודש שיה'ה ר"ח (ראש חודש) ב' ימים אזי החודש שעבר מלא;

c) More sign to indicate if the month is defective or complete, begin: ס"ל (סימן ל) איזו חודש מלא או חסר. כל הסמוך למלך חסר;

d) Sign for Passover, Ninth Av and Seventeenth Tammuz, begin: סימן על פסח וט' באב וי"ז בתמוז על מצות ומרורים יאכלהו;

e) A short introduction to the computus of Nahshon Gaon: אלו י"ג מחזורים תיקון רב נחשון גאון ופירש הם חלילה חוזרים לעולם.

The three initial words זמן, ס"ל, אלו are shaped as folded ribbons in red and green. The size of the letters leaves no space for the ascenders of the two lamed which are painted along the width of the page or wrapped around the bar of the letter (fig. 1; cf. MS I:47v).
