The initial word to the book of Genesis is written in alternating blue red, brown, red, and brown and blue letters. Above the initial word are four illustrated medallions on blue or green ground framed in red.
The right medallion contains a hand of God emerging from a segment of a sky and pointing to the left with three raised fingers.
The central medallions depicting Adam on the right and Eve on the left, both naked covering their nakedness with a leaf. Adam is pointing at Eve and looking backwards to the Lord.
In the leftmost medallion is the Garden of Eden represtented by a walled garden with a gate. (Alluding to Gen. 3:7-12).
The naked Adam and Eve are depicted also between the medallions on the parchment ground. Both figures raising a hand; Eve on the right is holding a red fruit.
At the center is a dog-headed serpent with a red fruit in its mouth coiling up the Tree of Knoledge facing Eve. On top of tree is a bird. (Alluding to Gen. 3:1-7).
Below the initial word are four large rosettes painted in red and blue with a silver center. They are connected by a stalk to a green stem terminating in a red pointed leaf on the right. A grotesque
animal with tongue extended upright framing the left side of the panel. The letters, medallions and rosettes are decorated with dotes forming trigangles and surrounded by penwork feathery scrolls.
