The burgundy parokhet is made of velvet .##The parokhet is rectangular and has a matching kaporet . At the center of the parokhet, two rampant lions~ supporting a Torah^Crown~ rise over a wreath of flowers. An inscription appears in the center of the kaporet: "זה' הפרכת אשר לפני ה'" "This is the parokhet which is before the Lord" Both the parokhet and kaporet have brass hanging loops.

Summary and Remarks
The letters indicated in the date inscription add up to (5)738 (1978), which seems unlikely both due to the nature of the object and the fact that it was dedicated by the widow of a man who died in 1896. I've dated it 1908 presuming that a dot was put over the final "ayin" (=70) by mistake.
