Fols. 77v, 79v: In the lower margin of the pages are an ink-drawn rooster (fol. 77v – fig. 1) and a lamb supporting a flag with its right foreleg (fol. 79v – fig. 2), both depicted by later hands who added marginal ink-drawings: A bird (fol. 32v) and a flowery pole (fol. 75v).
In Christian iconography a lamb bearing a flag (fig. 2) or a cross is a symbol of Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei). See for example the drawing of the Agnus Dei by Giulio Romano, c.1540 (fig. 3) and the woodcut "Adoration of the Lamb" by Albrecht Dürer, 1496-98 (fig. 4).
