The back-walled Hanukah^lamp is made of silver and consists of eight oil containers, a rack , shamash and legs. A row of eight rectangular, spouted oil containers is fastened to a straight bar within a box-like rack. The rack rests on four legs, of which the two front ones are in the shape of lions. A flat, hinged lid covering the tray is decorated with criss-cross pattern. A tiny handle composed of two superimposed spheres is attached to the centre of the lid. The openwork arched back wall is fastened to the drip tray. It is decorated with a central cartouche bearing a lit seven-branch^menorah, flanked by two rampant lions looking backwards and surmounted by a crown. The shamash is a movable, rectangular oil container inserted in a rectangular box surmounted by a swallow-tailed pennant. The box is inserted into a ring on the side of the back wall.
