The hanging back-walled Hanukah lamp is made of brass and consists of a row of oil containers, a drip tray, a back wall, and a hanger. A row of eight oval spouted oil containers is attached to the back wall. The drip tray has protruding front corners, and is attached to the bottom of the back plate. The multifoil pointed arched back wall is decorated symmetricaly with a large flower in the center, below which is a cluster of grapes. There is a vertical row of three flowers on either side of the central design. Each lobe of the arch contains a dot, and a horizontal row of punched dots forms the lower border of the decoration. The top lobe of the arch has the shape of a flower with a hole in its center, and this forms the hanger. The Shamash is missing. Originally it was hung on a hook attached to a flower on the upper left part of the back wall. There is a wire on the back, between the pins, for hanging. :MED : Metal:MH : 295mm (back); 20mm (sides):MWI : 242mm (back); 203mm (oil cups):MDE : 66mm (oil cups); 73mm (sides):MAT : Brass##Structure: cut out, cast (oil cups), folded (tray)##Decoration: repousse', punch, pierced##Bonding: tray nailed, (later soldered)##Oil containers: ears fastened by pins.
