Fol. 1: The title and the colophon: סדר הגדה של פסח Seder Haggadah of Passover are surrounded by six illustrations: Moses and Aaron are flanking the text; below them are David and Solomon. Within a shield at the top is a scene of the Sacrifice of Isaac, flanked by two rampant lions. At the bottom is a seder table scene. To the right of the title a bearded Moses stands in a frontal position within an arch. He holds the Tablets of the Law in his left hand and the rod in his right hand. To the left of the title a bearded Aaron stands in a frontal position within an arch. He is dressed as the High Priest and wears a mitre and breastplate. His long coat is adorned with bells. He holds a censer with both hands.
To the right of the title a crowned and bearded David sits within an arch. He holds a scepter in his right hand and a lyre rests at his left side. To the left of the title a crowned and bearded Solomon sits within an arch and holds a scepter in his right hand. Above the title is a scene within a shield of Abraham sacrificing Isaac. A bearded Abraham is on the left. His sword is lifted in his right hand. He holds Isaac by his hair. Isaac's hands are bound against his chest, and he is kneeling on a pile of wood. To the right is a ram standing behind a tree. A winged angel appears among the clouds and is drawing back Abraham's sword. Below the title is a panel depicting a group of men and women sitting around a long table in a room. Some hold cups of wine. Two servants approach from the left with plates of food in their hands. A servant on the right pours wine from a decanter.
