The western part of the southern wall has the depictions of the scene "By the Rivers of Babylon" and a large Magen David inscribed "If I forget thee, O Jerusalem" (both Ps. 137). The capitals of the painted pilasters next to these paintings include landscapes. These images were painted during the renovation of the 1980s and replaced the original ones.
The eastern part of the wall is decorated by painteed pilasters between the windows. The eastern pilaster has the zodiac sign of Gemini in its capital and the depiction of the tomb of Simeon the Righteous; the central pilaster has the zodiac sign of Taurus in its capital and the depiction of the tomb of Esther and Mordecai.
