The painting depicts the tomb of Rachel, which stands on the shore of a bay. The tomb is a cubic structure with a dome. A boat under a blue and white flag with a Magen David is approaching to the shore. The mountainous country stretches along the shore of the bay and went into the distance. The city walls and towers of Jerusalem are visible between mountains.

Inscriptions:

near the tomb:

קבר רחל (Rachel's Tomb)

On the frame:

ויש תקוה לאחריתך נאם ה' ושבו בנים לגבולם (ירמיהו לא:טז)

So there is hope for your descendants, declares the Lord. Your children will return to their own land (Jeremiah 31:17).
