The framed Hebrew opening page has a cream-colored background, decorated with vegetal motives. At the top of the inscription frame two couples of griffons are depicted with interwoven tails. On thr lower right side a bearded man, wearing red robe with a blue coat and a red headcover, is flanked by a lion while holding a harp in his left hand. On the left a black-haired woman, wearing a headcover and blue robe is standing, holding the horns of a young gazelle with her right hand and a dove in the other one. Another dove is flying above her. At the lower central, between them , is Raban's signature, in block Hebrew letters, within a medalion. The title is written in Hebrew block letters . The words Shir Hashirim in both places are written in red and all the others in golden brown. The text is devided by the publisher's mark (Ma. 1050.3).
