Art Alone
© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev,
The picture represents Jacob sleeping on the ground. Behind him stand two lines of winged angels, depicted in shades of white and gray. One line leads down from the clouds, while the other leads up to the heavens, forming a shape of a ladder. Dark blue skies with stars form the background. The dark-haired bearded Jacob is dressed in a grey gown and sandals. There is a dreamy, mysterious atmosphere.
