Vol. II, fol. 468: Three small initial word panels, inscribed ”(positive) percept" (מצות [עשה]) in display script against red filigree ground are place in the right column. Each of which is accompanied by a green and magenta medallion inhabited by (from top to bottom): a cock, a crouching ox and a dragon, all in spared ground technique. The ox illustrating the text beside it “It is a positive precept to sacrifice bulls…during the seven days of Passover” (מצות עשה להקריב כל שבעת ימי הפסח... פרים בני בקר), while the cock, may allude to sacrifice animals mentioned in the text. Flourishes extend from the panels into the margins.
