Fol. 126v: A decorative vertical panel executed by artist A serves as a space filler in the text space of the piyyut for Shaharit of the Day of Atonement, dividing between the repeated opening word “King” (מלך), rubricated in red and the verses of the piyyut. The panel runs lengthwise along the entire page, narrowing towards the middle, taking into consideration the small initial word “And so” (ובכן) which is rubricated in red. The panel is filled with spared ground foliate scrolls and animals all set on a ground of red hatching. At the top of the panel is a lion mask, holding in his mouth the foliate scroll that extends downwards, curving into a dragon’s head towards the middle of the panel. The lower part of the panel includes an elongated dog and small flowers executed in spared ground.
