Jewish Holocaust Victims from Nadvirna, who were murdered here on October 6, 1941

Description

This monument is located at the mass grave and killing site in the Bukovynka Forest near Nadvirna. It is a brown stone obelisk with a rough surface that sits atop a stepped base. A white plaque with a Ukrainian inscription is embedded in the obelisk, and a plaque with a Hebrew inscription was bolted to the obelisk in the post-Soviet period. A red Soviet star was originally pinned to the top of the monument, but was dismantled in 2011.

Translation: Here rest 3860 Soviet citizens that were shot by German invaders on October 6, 1941

Translation: Mass grave / Bukovinka forest / Here, 4000 Jews were murdered by nazis on Yom Kippur in 5702 [=October 1, 1941] / The monument was erected by Yisroel Meir Gabbai / Address for donations: P.O.b. 50567, Jerusalem,  91056. One can transfer to our bank account 7064, bank Massad (46), office 166
