© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 04.1994
The work represents a woman with two children. The little one is sitting on her hands while the elder one, a girl, is standing frontally to the left of her mother. The woman is shown in the moment when she starts to go up the stairs. She is turned rightwards in profile. Her left leg is already stands on the lower stair while the right one is still standing on the ground. There is a basket hanging on the woman's right hand. The elder girl clings to its edge with the right hand. The left hand is lowered. On the background one can see the outlines of the houses of a shtetl. The work is painted with free brush strokes. Some parts of the paper are left unpainted.
