The composition of the drawing is based on the picture by Cranach of the same subject. There are seven figures: two women in the lower part of the sheet and five men in the upper part. Men are standing on a kind of balcony, so one can see only their heads. Figures of naked women are made by vast strokes of blue, grey and brown water-color. One of them is sitting (Bathsheba), the second one is washing Bathsheba's legs.
