The bas-relief represents a face of the apostle. It looks like a huge mask of rectangular form with rounded angles. It reminds of a dish with a flat bottom and slightly raised boarders, filled with different forms protruding out of it.A straight line of a nose joined with an oval of a mouth resembles the form of a key turned upside down. A tongue represented by two knobs juts out from the mouth. From the right there is a diagonal line and under it there are two more large diagonal outgrowths with knobs. Eyes are represented by circles with protruding "pupils" at the center. Edges of the bas-relief are covered with small knobs which resemble a bristle. The bas-relief is painted with a brown color.
