Fol. 67v
The page of the Hosha’anot prayers for Sukkot is decorated with three small pen-work initial word panels, executed in the second stage of decoration.
The initial words are written in black ink within a panel filled with delicate filigree pen-work in alternating red and purple. The pen-work extends on the right into a decorated narrow band ending in tendrils. The tendrils of the upper right panel for the initial words “Man and beast(אדם ובהמה) "incorporates a red hybrid, comprised of a half-goat, half-human body, pointing to the panel. This hybrid probably illustrates the initial words man and beast.
