The torah^case is made of wood and consists of a body and a crown.##The body is cylindrical and covered with purple velvet. Silver friezes encircle the centre and the upper and lower borders of the body. The central one is decorated with foliate pattern. The upper and lower friezes bear dedicatory inscription. Silver plaques in the shape of a cartouche are attached to the body. The plaques are decorated by a vase with flowers.##The upper borders of the body are surmounted by a lily-like crenellation.## The case is opened by two hook clasps. The inner case is covered by cotton bearing floral pattern in blue and white. The onion shaped crown is composed of a main section, a crest and an apex.## The main section is covered with purple velvet. Six silver plaques, similar to those on the body are attached to it. An undulating crest is mounted over the crown and ending in a bud -like apex. The crest is covered with silver plaques decorated alternatively with floral pattern. At the middle is a large ring bearing two rows of rhomboids. Six chains hang around the centre of the crest and are carrying slit drop-shaped bells.##Two iron rimon mounts are fixed on the crown.##The inner face of the crown is covered by mirrors. They bear a dedicatory inscription, which is framed by flowers. Bellow the mirrors is a yellow paper band which bears an inscription written in filled red letters, and reads from the right: תורה צוה לנו משה % מורשה קהלת יעקב !Deut. 33:4! The dedicatory inscription in the inner face of the crown is written in green filled letters in six rows, and reads beginning from the right, and reads: וזאת ## התורה אשר## שם משה לפני ## בני ישראל: ## תיק זה וסת' ## שבו עשה אותו Deut.4:44 followed !This case and the torah scroll inside it has been done by! The inscription continues on the left, and reads: הר' ## אפרים שמכת ## היו )ה' יחיהו וישמרהו( למנוחת ## אשתו שרה ## בת יעקבש' ## שנת התרצג' ! The Rabbi ## Efraim Simhat ## may the Lord sustain him and grant him favour (int.) for the repose of ## his wife Sarah daughter of Jacob ## the year 5693-(1913)! The dedicatory inscription on the upper frieze is chaised in outline letters, and reads: תיק זה וספר תורה שבו עשה אותו היקר אפרים % בן שמכת היו )ה' יחיהו וישמרהו( למנו' )למנוחת( אשתו שרה בת יעקב התרצג' !This case and the Torah scroll inside it have been done by the dear Efraim % son of Simhat, may the Lord sustain him and grant him favour (int.), for the repose of (int.) his wife Sarah daughter of Jacob 5693-(1913)! The dedicatory inscription on the lower frieze is chaised in outline letters, and reads: על מנת בכל מקום שירצו בעלי הסת' )הספר התורה( להוציאו % ולהניחו למקומות אחרים הרשות בידם וב'כח' )ובכחם( !For the sake of the owners of the Torah who want to take it out % and put it in other places, the permission is in their hands and their representatives(int.)!
