© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev,

The picture represents a relief map of Israel from an eastern point of view. The Mediterranean is depicted in the upper third of the picture in sky blue with white stains which also suggests sky. The land is mostly yellow and on it there are brown and reddish areas representing the Galilee Mountains, Mount Carmel, and Judea Mountains. The Sharon region is represented by a green stain between the coast and Judea. On the Judea mountains is written in Hebrew block, black, cursive and very dominant letters: בגדה יהודה that can be read in two ways: 1. Judea which is in the bank (West Bank?); 2.Judea has betrayed. Jezreel Valley is represented in the same dark yellow connecting between Mount Carmel and the deep blue, Lake Kinneret. The Jordan Valley and river as well as the Banias above the Lake Kinneret are represented by a bright green line. The sky blue Dead Sea is in a pale green valley surrounded by the yellow Arava and Negev. Beyond the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea are red mountains of Edom, again within the yellow surroundings. On the margins of the map short and long lines intermittently are representing the measuring scale of the picture.
