The flat-topped Torah case is composed of eight facets and is divided into two vertical halves at the centre of its front facet, while the back facet is separated from the body and attached to each half by hinges.

Parts of the flower-shaped closure mechanism are placed on both sides of the opening.

The inner face of the Torah case is plain wood. Each half bears a thickened base comprising of two plaques placed one on top of the other.

Holes for inserting the Torah scroll staves appear at the bottom and top.

Summary and Remarks
1. There is evidence that dedicatory plaques used to be attached to the front facet. 2. It is probable, according to evidence by remaining nails, that a pair of strips once encircled the lower part of the body and one strip encircled its upper part. 3. Originally the Torah case had shelves at the bottom and maybe at the upper parts of the inner face.
