The basin is oval in shape with a protruding rim. The exterior of the basin is decorated with a standing bird whose head is turned backwards. A snake-like levaiathan with a second head at the end of his tail encircles the upper part of the exterior and bites the bird from either side.

The base is decorated with a wavy pattern. The underside of the basin is decorated with a large fish with scales, fins, and one round eye.
