A floral and foliate border surrounds the text space in the upper, lower and inner margins. The scrolling green stems of the border blossom with buds and pink, blue and yellow flowers, interspersed with gold studs and tendrils. The studded tendrils also extend half-way down the outer margin. At the top of the page, a rectangular panel, hugged by the floral border and stretching across the width of the text space, encloses the heading, מוסף לשבועות, "Mussaf for Shavuot." The panel is framed by a double gold border filled with a red ground decorated with gold tracery and blue rosettes. A green foliate motif is attached to the left side of the panel. Combined with this panel on the bottom right side, is a smaller gold panel enclosing the word, אתה, "You," beginning the special Mussaf passages for the festival. The panel is framed on the left and at the bottom by a double gold border filled with a blue ground decorated with gold tracery.
